This traditional terraced pre-war home was in average condition but was in sense a blank canvas for a major upgrade in terms of design, layout and energy usage improvement which was very important to the clients brief. Such elements as high quality glazing with Insulation upgrade , air to water heat-pump technology and airtightness construction was important. This adds a very obvious improvement to the living environment, with a new open plan feel and elevated patio terrace to rear which sits comfortably with its neighbours and beautiful street surroundings.

Internally, the objective was to create a more open plan home for family living. The extensive glazing and external terraces and gardens enables the spaces to be flooded with natural light, but keeping the clients privacy while, at the same time, ensuring a connection to a large landscaped back garden. The former boxy house is reformed to create much improved house for modern 21^st century living.

This was a very successful project which achieved an A-2 Ber Energy rating.
